These are handy little pocket compasses for trekking or just hiking around the woods. They are 2" in diameter and 1/2" thick when closed.
There is a plastic dial that you can adjust to travel using degrees, just like a modern compass. Sure, plastic isn't authentic to the 18th century, but it beats getting lost in the woods now, doesn't it?
The dial is a nice replica of an 18th century style compass dial with the traditional compass points in block letters with serifs for an old-fashioned look.
