Here is our 1773 Pattern French Flintlock Sea Service Pistol. What makes this a sea service pistol instead of a cavalry pistol is the brass furniture. French naval weapons tended to have brass furniture while land service weapons had steel furniture.
This pistol has a belt hook on the left side and a brass nose cap. The barrel is 9" long in .69 caliber smoothbore. The overall length of the pistol is 16-1/2". The lock is marked Mutzig.
