Here is our Double Barreled Caplock Howdah Pistol. When compared to original Howdah pistols, this is much more correct than the oversized Italian made Howdahs that are out there.
The barrels are 9" long in .62 caliber smoothbore. All steel parts are rust blued, a process that takes 3 days. There is hand engraving on the locks, triggerguard, top rib, hammers, tang and entry pipe. The triggerguard and buttcap are brass with other furniture being steel.
Overall length is 16". This pistol uses musket style caps. The nipples are the Parker-Hale type. The cone portion of the nipple is taller and tapered which may be unfamiliar to people who are accustomed to mass produced pistols that use #11 caps, but these are historically correct.
