This is a crooked knife. They were a trade item as stocked by the Hudson's Bay Company during the fur trade.
The blade has a bend in the end for carving inside of things like cups, bowls etc.
The wooden handle has a tiller shape so you can 'steer' the knife with your thumb while carving. These were ergononic before the word ergonomic was invented!
The blade is 3 3/4" long plus an additional 1/2" after the bend. 8 3/4" long overall.
